Trainees :

People willing to get a professional training to learn the Decorative Painter craft. To be IPEDEC graduated, trainees have to take a final exam. Admission test in drawing and perspectives (correspondence admission test possible).

Objectives :
To be able to learn and use professionally the different techniques in the field of inside and outside decorative painting.

Teaching team :
Professional decorative painters with a wide experience of teaching their craft to adults.

Teaching methods :
- Demonstrations immediately put into practice by the trainees in fully equipped premises,
- Trainings on different supports in real conditions : walls, doors, panelling .....
- Achievement of individual works on supple papers or light stiff supports which can be kept by the trainees when leaving School.

- Knowledge of supports, base coat application before decorating (sizings and paintings),
- Harmony of colours (laws of Physics, colouring .....),
- Wood and marble imitations, with different levels of finish,
- Traditional and contemporary patina works,
- Marking work (filet, braid), stone imitation, trompe-l'oeil moulding,
- Classical and contemporary ornamentation, in flat shades or in relief (shadows and highlights),
- Stencil decoration techniques, friezes, interlace, styles-linked ornamentation,
- Mural panoramas, perspective, architecture, skies, drapery and outlines .....
- Metallic and bronze effects, inlaid work imitation .....
